Today,
we take the ribbon of blacktop that winds through the Cajon Pass for
granted. As our cars, trucks, and SUV’s
downshift to keep pace as the 15 Freeway ascends to the summit; how many of us
give thought to the struggles of those who once trod through this rugged
country via horse, mule, or wagon? Or
with Camels?
The toll road was intended to address the difficulties associated with travel through the Cajon Pass.
