Freeman's Stage Station/Robber's Roost, revisited.
After his stage station was robbed by Tiburcio Vasquez and his gang, Freeman Raymond found the remains of a campsite near the rock formation shown in the distance. Vasquez' gang is thought to have observed Freeman's station from there, while planning the robbery. Hence, the site is known as "Robber's Roost."
